The design studio and shop are located in a diversified farm manor enclosed within the privately owned Gotha Gardens in Hertfordshire. The gardens are open from the months of April to September to the general public. The benefit of a large open space and raw nature around, gives an opportunity to establish a biodynamic production environment, essential to the creation of a luxury product.
The Flaumane brand implements a hedonistic approach and works with highest quality materials within design and production of the pieces, that reflect their quality and authenticity. The brand’s ethos stands against throw-away culture, mass production, poor quality, unsustainable working practices and cheap harsh materials. Flaumane works with premium suppliers and uses the most reputable sources of the highest quality components. The brand is proud to create the designs that underpin the “word” luxury on its labels and becoming a part of the premium artisanal products market that strictly follows the key principals of a luxury product design. Biodynamic approach, true academic design principals and environmental commitment will help the artisanal industry to bring the sustainable quality lifestyle closer to the consumer.
The People behind The brand
The main force behind the brand is the designer and perfumer Anna Flaumane-Selwyn-Gotha. Anna studied Product Design at the Italian Academy of Art & Design in Florence and the world leading, famous for its St Martin College, University of Arts London. From a young age she was fascinated with the world of Art & Product Design. She participated in the "For your Eyes only" exhibition in Florence dedicated to Spatial Design & Interior Architecture. The designer gathered momentum and captured a lot of interest with her project "Transparency & Reflection"- a manipulation of light in a reconstructed space. She later embarked on research into the world of the perfumery luxury product design.
